How to make a room appear bigger using paint?
When you live in a small home, you sometimes have to compromise your decorating style in order to make the most of the space. However by utilising a few design concepts you can fool the eye and make your room look much bigger and spacious.
Light colours such as Naturals and Duck Eggs are just a few of the best colour combinations that can open up a tiny room into a bigger living area. This is because light and brightly coloured walls are more reflective making a space feel open and airy, which will help to maximize the effect created by natural light. Dark colours tend to absorb light, making the room look smaller. However if you do want to add a dark colour to your decor then paint your walls light and use dark colours for the border and trim. If you have any panelling or a dado rail paint them in a lighter colour than your walls as the wall will appear to look further back, making your living room appear bigger.
