With autumn fast approaching now is the time to cover those bare floors and inject some fresh trends into your house. Laura Ashley has a brand new collection of 5 rugs for the Autumn/Winter. There is a big trend on the high street for natural yet contemporary looking products and the Sheringham rug fits this trend well. This casual thickly textured wool rug in natural fits perfectly in any room to create a comforting homely experience. The Hewett rug is also fairly casual however it has added interest in the form of sculpted leaves.
In contrast the Rialto rug is a traditional rug with a modern twist. This beautiful woven large damask rug in taupe and natural tones has a slight shine and would make a great state mental piece in any room. The Lawler is a glamorous oval soft and sumptuous shaggy rug in natural and off white tones. This oval shape is very popular on the high street and provides a modern look to your house. The Fortney rug is also a great contemporary rug with a striking tree silhouette design using metallic look threads to give it a great sheen.

The Leighton is the perfect neutral contemporary rug for any room whatever the decoration. This stylishly subtle stripe rug has a 100% cotton ground and 100% viscose pile which gives it a sumptuous feel. The Hemington is a fresh willow green, cotton rug and perfectly compliments the rest of the Arts & Crafts roomset.
For the traditionalists the Patchwork rug is a great 100% wool rug made up of rich cranberry, burnt orange and natural tones and would look great on a polished wooden floor.

Kintrye Gabbeh Rug
For AW08 we will be launching a more specialist rug called the Kintyre Gabbeh Rug. This stylish wool rug will retail for £450 for a 120x180 size and is a style of rug called a Gabbeh.
Gabbeh rugs are made using traditional, time-honoured techniques. The rugs are hand knotted using twisted woollen yarn, which has been dyed using special processes. The hand knotted process is more labour intensive and this is reflected in the price point of the rug.
The combination of the dyeing process and twisted wool creates a unique, softly mottled texture with subtle, random changes of colour throughout the rug. The variation in colour and design for each rug is a special characteristic of Gabbeh rugs and no two rugs will ever be the same.
We are initially buying a small quantity of this rug but if sales are good we will look at buying more as well as investigating new colour ways.
