A splash of colour
Finally, the new AW09 collection has been launched with fabulous products and a palette of new colours; from our classic cranberry and neutral to vibrant cerise and smart teals.
We have introduced new shapes for sofa's and chair and fabrics for all tastes.
A brand new chair for the autumn season is the Addison Chair. This is our only chair currently that we offer in a patchwork style. The chair can be purchased in the Abigail and Cranberry Velvets that retails at £1250 and can also be purchased in any other upholstery fabric from our collection retailing from £700 as well as all leathers retailing from £1150.
This beautiful high back wing chair is comfortable and is suitable for any interior.
If your after a statement piece, take a look at the Sherbourne chair in Sienna Black. Combining an intricate design with classical French elegance, our Sherbourne chair will add a touch of sophistication to any room.
The Kidworth bench is also new for autumn. It is stylish and versatile and is also available in over 100 fabrics. The bench retails from £700.
Sofas and Chairs: Classic Shapes
Laura Ashley continues to introduce new styles and shapes on both sofas and chairs. Each season you are given the opportunity to buy into some of our new designs, and we have worked even harder to bring you some new exciting things for the autumn season.
However, if you do not want to wait that long, and are looking to update your room with a new sofa or chair, take a look at our website and catalogue for some inspiration.
The Mortimer sofa and Kingston sofa ranges are two of our best selling classic shapes. If you are looking for something elegant, the Mortimer sofa is perfect with its beautiful curved arms. If you are looking for something a little formal, our Kingston sofa has straight arms with a detailed panel on the arm.
Both sofas are very comfortable and generously sized. Both ranges included armchairs, large two-seater sofas as well as a standard two-seater sofa.

Occasional Chairs
Every home needs chairs, and with the collect of occasional chairs and armchairs we offer, you will have no problems finding one that suits you and your home.
Starting with the Walden, a distinctively designed classic scroll armchair with fibre filled seat cushion, sprung seat, and a choice of dark or oak coloured legs. This chair is available in all of our upholstery fabrics, and all leathers including distressed.
Another star chair is the cambridge chair. This is available as a fixed cover or loose cover. Additional loose covers can also be purchased. If you wanted to coordinate with the cambridge chair, have a look at the cambridge two seater which is ideal for smaller spaces.
If your looking for something quite sweet and petit, take a look at our Burlington collection. You can choose between various shapes and all are avaialble in both fabric and leather.
The burlington range consists of a chair, two seater sofa, and a footstool. From AW09 we will be launching a large two seater sofa for those of you who have larger homes.
The Lincoln chair is a handsome gentlemen's chair with turned wooden arms, and oak arm spindles. Making our chairs and sofa's coordinate with your home couldn't be any easier as we allow you the choice of choosing the fabric and leather that best suits your home.
Looking for a colour to freshen up your home this spring summer, well look no further as Laura Ashley this season have launched a new colour Willow.
We have revamped some of our old classic upholstery fabrics such as Maxwell, Maggy, and Melbury and also launched some new florals and small motifs. Take a look at Acantha and Reenie fabrics, which are featured, in our classic Arts and Crafts story.

Spring/Summer 2009
The Baxley chair is a new addition to the Laura Ashley upholstery collection. A new swivel chair for relaxing and lounging, available in a choice of 3 fabrics.
If you're looking for a fabric that is suitable for any room interior, the Evedon Linen is perfect. For more of a fresh look, go for the Floral, and if you're looking to make a statement with something vibrant, go for the Baxley in Caitlyn cranberry.
Another new shape launched for our spring summer collection is the Coleby chair which is available in a choice of 100 fabrics. This timeless shape is comfortable and spacious allowing you to curl up with a good book or cup of tea.
If you looking for something in leather this season, take a look at the Laura Ashley Brandon chair that is available in fabric and leather. A retro shape, with large curved arms.
A Continued Trend for Teal
Spring/Summer 2008 saw the launch of our new Teal story "Blue Notes". This colourway has seen a fantastic response on Upholstery and as a trend, looks set to continue forward into the next couple of seasons.
Our best selling fabric is a re-colouration of our popular Maxwell Stripe; a chenille stripe utilising various tones of teal on a neutral coloured ground shown here on our Burlington chair in teal. The co-ordinate to this fabric is our Maggy Spot, which uses the same mix of teal colours as the stripe but shown here in cranberry on the Darwin wooden arm chair. Both fabrics are very versatile and suit both chairs and sofas alike.
Use them together for a quirky and fun look (for example the spot on a chair and the stripe on a footstool).
Ellington Teal has also proved to be a popular choice. A large-scale floral design, it is certainly more statemental than the stripe and looks amazing on larger Upholstery pieces, such as the Gloucester sofa, which has been featured both in store and in our catalogue but is not available in teal online. The ombre effect within the design is a new technique for us on Upholstery fabric and adds to its drama.
This Ellington teal fabric is also available to buy by the metre (priced at £35 p/m) so is ideal for those wishing to make a bold statement and accessorise with co-ordinating soft furnishings such as cushions, curtains or blinds.
And finally for the customer who loves the sheer luxury of velvet, Francesca teal fabric is the perfect option. The deep teal colour really lends itself to this fabric. Produced in Italy, it is of the finest quality and has a gorgeous, sumptuous handle.

A Classic with a Twist
Occasional chairs are becoming increasingly popular as we shy away from the conventional 3-piece suite and look to inject more of an eclectic feel to our living rooms.
The traditional wing chair has long been a best seller for Laura Ashley and yet this season it has taken on a new dimension, in the form of the Finchley chair. Still retaining some of its old fashioned charm, the front arm face is now flat and the wings are less deep. The most distinctive move forward however, is the buttoning across the back. A horizontal row of 3 buttons brings this style right up to date and gives it that quirky feel without it looking too modern.
The combination of old and new styling, means this chair suits a whole variety of fabrics and is selling well in our more contemporary fabric options as well as the more traditional.
Dark or oak coloured wooden legs can be selected to co-ordinate with your fabric choice and the seat and back are both sprung for added comfort.
